Has this ever happened to you? The toy area in the house gets bigger and bigger and bigger until you feel like your life is being taken over by toys? I'm at that point right now. When I had one, it was manageable. There were certain places for toys and then places for adult things. Now with two, there are no places for MY things! The clutter is driving me nuts!!!!!!
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a clean freak. That's my husband. I'm comfortable with some disorder, but lately I've been feeling pretty claustrophobic. The walls are closing in and when I look around, all I see are bright colors....Lightening McQueen, Thomas the Tank Engine, wooden railroad tracks, things I have to do reviews on, swings, vibrating chairs, playmats, stuffed animals, DVDs, dirty laundry, etc....
I find myself constantly leaving the house with the kids, because after being in the house for awhile during the day, I get more antsy than my toddler. Serenity now.....I need a good workout!

I can so relate...
However, we haven't bought many toys for DS2, but it still seems like we have way too many toys sometimes.
Half of which they hardly ever play with =)!
We do a purging of the toys before birthdays and Christmas. That can help a lot to ask them to donate to the needy.
My son has the most amazing memory in the world. I try throwing things away sometimes, but he knows when one thing is gone. Sometime he cares, sometimes he doesn't, but when he does care he gets so upset and looks up at me with those big blue eyes and cries. Things have been very emotional to him since the baby came and I hate to seem him like that. He's so good to the baby, but then gets so crazy around me. So I'm pack ratting his stuff instead of throwing it out.
You should ask your son to donate his old items to kids who do have toys like he has. We do that with our kids and for some reason it has worked and they have allowed us to get rid of old toys they no longer play with regardless of how much they seem to love them. Just an idea.
That's a good idea. The lady that cleans our house takes things like that to an orphanage in Mexico once every month. I should start giving her bags.
We purge from time to time as well ... as they get older the toys take up less space!
Well, we have been purging, but it keeps growing! This condo living is for the birds!
Oh geez, this looks like our toyroom! and that would be AFTER the garage sale lol
